The schooling is a big attraction for the village, with a desirable local nursery and primary school and Wheatley Park secondary school a short drive away. St Giles church is believed to date back to Norman times and is famous for two unusual stone figures on the church tower and for a stained glass window commemorating an Oxford don who was attacked by a wild boar on Shotover Hill.
